TriCon was hired by Scannell Properties to design/build and install an 800′ long x 16′ high precast concrete sound wall.

This project had urgency as local residents and the city were eager to address overflow trucking noise as soon as possible.

In addition, the project had soil challenges due to environmental cap on site. Footings were excavated and installed specifically to maintain the integrity of the environmental cap.

The project schedule ran through the winter months (Jan, Feb, & Mar). Ground thaw glycol systems were used to prevent the sub-grade from freezing during temperatures that dropped consistently below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Special concrete design mixes were used and artificial heaters were implemented per ACI 306R specifications so as to deliver a quality project without compromise.
